Thousands of families displaced by Hurricane Katrina are being provided temporary housing through a variety of resources. If the hurricane has affected you and your family, help is available.

Transitional Housing Assistance Program (Source: FEMA)
Information on the initial payment being provided by FEMA and HUD for your immediate housing needs.
Housing Hotline (Source: HUD)
Toll free number 1-888-297-8685, to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The number operates from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CDT, seven days a week.
Rural Development Assistance (Source: USDA)
Residents living in Rural Development-financed apartments who have been displaced are qualified to receive priority admission to any of our vacant apartment units in the U.S.
Disaster Housing Resources Online (DHRonline)
Helps evacuees find immediately available rental properties - housing resources that can provide disaster victims with safety and peace of mind while their home is repaired or a new home constructed.
