That's how we started...


Katrina's Angels started due to the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina.

Once again, hurricane season is almost upon us. We have just gone through a prolonged rainy season followed by area flooding in many states :Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island were most recently among those caught in the lurch of the melting snow, heavy storms, and raging rivers. Although Katrina's Angels has not yet been contacted by any areas that may feel overlooked or are seeking additional help, we will try to respond in the best way possible when we have a request or see a need. In order to conduct a large-scale response, we need your help.
 
Your donation of just $10 can provide a family with items they have an immediate need for: personal hygiene and first aid supplies such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant, washcloths, bandaids, neosporin, hand sanitizer, and over-the-counter medications such as aspirin, cold medicine, tylenol, or antacids. These items can offer some semblance of relief, and can go a long way to making someone more comfortable and functional during a difficult time,as well as help prevent infection in the flood's aftermath. By replacing these items, monies the survivors have can be directed toward other things.
 
Your donation of just $35 can help supply a flood bucket filled with items to help in the cleanup, such as hand sanitizer, bleach, rags, reusable wipes, dish soap, all-purpose disinfectant cleaner, latex or plastic gloves, trash bags, and insect repellent. Often following a disaster, you just don't know where to start first. Sometimes, if you have the supplies on hand, you can just simply begin where you are, and move forward.
 
Your donation of $50 can go to purchase a gift card for a family of four to help replace their immediate needs, such as socks and underwear. Firsthand, there are needs that are often overlooked, and while used clothing may help,some items are best purchased new.

Who We Are

Katrina's Angels is a national volunteer effort that is driven by the generosity of people wanting to make a difference for those communities affected by federally and state-declared disasters. We are committed to providing coordinated solutions to rebuild the lives of those in communities affected by disaster through our volunteers and our partners. Katrina's Angels is incorporated in the State of New York and is registered as a Public Charity 501(c)3. EIN 13-4364286. We need angels willing to lend a hand as well as people willing to coordinate our angels. Please visit our Volunteer Page to join our efforts.

Our Results

We have had hundreds of volunteers registered in our organization at various times, and a growing list of partners who work together to serve the needs of those people affected by federally and state-declared disasters. Following the hurricanes of 2005, Katrina's Angels had 900+ evacuees and their families register and many families had every one of their needs filled.
